Acmella repens
The first characteristic of this species is its belonging to the sunflower family (Asteraceae) in emersion so it produces one of the most beautiful flowers in the world. The sunflower is not a single flower, but it is composed of many small flowers that form the famous peeps.
Also the inflorescence of Acmella repens is the same and our tanks with the right light you can see it on top of a stalk of considerable size.
The submerged plant has an average rate of growth and its cultivation is not difficult.
it has a reddish stem and on the upper side of the leaves are visible veins and spots of the same color.you can see this color with the right light (in my tank I have 1 w / l of t5 lamp) and the correct amount of micronutrients (especially iron) in column otherwise the plant stays green.
An 'other feature is its bearing (vertical).
--------------------
Hyptis lorenziana
This is another rare species I grow for some time
Endemic of South America for a few years was spread with the name of Traian Hemigraphis, but about two years ago observing the flowering stage, the species has been determined correctly.
His family is Lamiaceae, the same as the mint!
In tank plant is very beautiful and colorful: the leaves and the stem are purple.it is particularly blistering of leaf blades and quadrangular stems .
it is not a plant of easy cultivation: In addition to a good soil, light and CO2 we must be attentive to the level of phosphates: the plant grows very well with a value of 0.5 mg / l, to avoid very low values.
Regards,
Lino.
